Job summary

Gametime is seeking a technically hands-on Director of Engineering for Fan Experience to lead 3–4 teams delivering fast, high‑quality consumer features. You will set hiring barriers, coach Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers, and partner with Product and Design to align roadmaps.

You’ll also drive AI tooling usage to boost velocity while maintaining quality. This role is highly hands‑on and central to shipping customer‑facing features in a fast‑growing live events marketplace in the United

Qualifications

• 8+ years in engineering, including time managing managers/senior ICs
• Experience leading 3–4 teams in a fast-paced consumer marketplace
• Proven track record shipping consumer-facing features that measurably move business outcomes
• Strong cross-functional partnership with Product and Design
• Familiar with frontend stacks (React/React Native) and backend services
• Experience guiding AI-assisted development and tooling workflows
• Ability to balance velocity, quality and technical debt

Responsibilities

• Hire and set talent bar across all teams
• Directly manage a mix of ICs and Engineering Managers/Staff Engineers
• Act as de facto EM for teams without dedicated manager
• Lead AI-forward engineering and tooling adoption
• Own the engineering roadmap and execution across teams
• Partner with PMs and Designers to prioritize and sequence work
• Drive cross-team collaboration to improve velocity and quality
• Identify risks and propose concrete mitigation strategies
• Maintain visibility into performance metrics and platform health
