Job summary

Seymour, IN-based EMS leader is seeking a Director of Engineering to steer the EMS/PCBA engineering, NPI, and document control functions. You will drive advanced engineering capabilities, capital investments, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Quality, and executives to ensure best-in-class quality, delivery, and client satisfaction.

You will mentor engineers, maintain engineering standards, and align roadmaps with customer and industry trends while ensuring regulatory

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
10+ years in EMS/contract manufacturing engineering.
5+ years leading NPI and process development.
Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary engineering teams in SMT/PCBA.
Experience with regulated sectors (aerospace/defense/medical).
Deep knowledge of SMT equipment and PCB testing strategies (ICT, Flying Probe, Functional).

Responsibilities

Lead Engineering and Document Control, setting priorities and resources.
Mentor and upskill engineers to build technical depth and cross-functional collaboration.
Define engineering standards, SOPs, and KPIs for safety, quality, yield, throughput.
Forecast staffing, software, and capital equipment needs.
Drive Lean/Six Sigma improvements and technology roadmap.
Direct procurement, qualification, and integration of high-precision PCBA equipment.
Interface with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams on NPI and DFx reviews.
Oversee NPI lifecycle from quoting to production ramp and document control compliance.
