Position Summary

Our client,a leading global manufacturer of engineered products is seeking an experienced and hands‑on Director of Engineering to lead its Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Technical Illustration, and Engineering Regulatory Affairs functions. Salary: $150,000/yr. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity overseeing a cross‑functional engineering organization responsible for product development across multiple product lines, including AV mounting solutions, kiosks, and outdoor display systems. The Director of Engineering will provide strategic leadership and technical direction for engineering initiatives, ensuring projects are executed efficiently, innovatively, and in alignment with business objectives. This role requires a combination of long‑term strategic thinking, strong people leadership, and the ability to personally engage in solving complex technical challenges. The ideal candidate is a resourceful and driven engineering leader who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about product development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Design Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Technical Illustration, and Regulatory Affairs functions.
• Direct engineering projects from concept through production, ensuring alignment with company objectives, timelines, quality standards, and cost targets.
• Develop and continuously improve engineering processes, procedures, standards, and cross‑functional workflows.
• Collaborate closely with Product Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and external suppliers throughout the product development lifecycle.
• Provide strategic insight into market trends, emerging technologies, engineering practices, and competitive considerations.
• Support manufacturing readiness through Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) principles, process optimization, and production support.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and certification requirements, including UL, FCC, and CE standards.
• Recruit, mentor, develop, and lead high‑performing engineering teams.
• Establish clear goals and accountability while fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement.
• Provide technical leadership and hands‑on support in the resolution of complex product, design, manufacturing, and engineering issues.
• Support and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) initiatives and objectives.
• Partner with leadership to align engineering resources, priorities, and investments with organizational strategy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QMS & EMS Leadership Responsibilities

The Director of Engineering will demonstrate leadership and accountability for the effectiveness and continual improvement of the organization's Quality and Environmental Management Systems.

• Demonstrate leadership and commitment to QMS and EMS processes and take accountability for the effectiveness of these systems.
• Establish, communicate, and maintain Quality and Environmental Policies and Objectives that are aligned with the organization's strategic direction and business objectives.
• Promote continual improvement throughout engineering and cross‑functional operations.
• Communicate the importance of effective QMS and EMS processes and ensure these systems achieve their intended goals.
