Space Inch is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead the engineering function within a long-standing client partnership with a major U.S. investment manager. You will work closely with the CTO as the top engineering leader on the account, owning day‑to‑day operations and people leadership while driving AI adoption across the team.

You will navigate a regulated environment with multiple tech stacks, ensuring operational excellence and a strong people-first culture within an agency setting.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software development
• 5+ years leading engineering teams
• Experience delivering projects in agency/consultancy/client-embedded setups
• Strong communication and stakeholder management
• Hands-on fluency with AI as a working tool
• Experience coordinating multiple teams/workstreams

Responsibilities

• Provide people leadership, coaching, and retention for engineers
• Serve as senior engineering point of contact for client stakeholders
• Coordinate delivery across frontend, backend, DevOps, platform, and tooling workstreams
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, and staffing; manage allocation
• Lead AI-driven uplift in team performance and productivity
• Translate delivery metrics and AI gains into a client-facing value narrative
