Job summary

Meade is seeking a strategic, technically accomplished Director of Electrical Engineering to lead our electrical engineering practice across mission-critical and large-scale infrastructure projects in Tempe, AZ. You will oversee strategic direction, technical delivery, and operational performance of electrical services to ensure world-class power distribution, resiliency, and safety.

Qualifications

12+ years in electrical engineering with mission-critical or data center experience.
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering; Master's preferred.
5+ years in a leadership role with teams and budgets.
PE license strongly preferred.
Expertise in electrical power distribution systems, UPS, generators, MV gear, switchgear, grounding, and control systems.
Background in electrical system studies (short circuit, arc flash, coordination).
Familiar with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and related codes and standards.
Proficient in MS Office; working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, SKM, and electrical design software.

Responsibilities

Set vision and standards for electrical engineering across projects.
Lead engineering teams, project managers, and designers to deliver safe, reliable electrical systems on time and within budget.
Provide high-level review of electrical designs, calculations, and specs for power distribution, UPS, switchgear, generators, MV systems, and controls integration.
Establish and enforce design standards, QA/QC protocols, and technical guidelines for all electrical deliverables.
Partner with internal disciplines and external partners to align electrical strategies with project goals.
Act as executive-level contact for electrical scope and build client relationships.
Mentor and grow a team of electrical engineers and designers; recruit and onboard.
Track and report performance metrics on design quality, timeliness, budgets, and client satisfaction.
Drive adoption of resilient, sustainable electrical solutions and emerging technologies.
Maintain compliance with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and client requirements.
