Job summary

Habitat for Humanity of Cape Cod seeking a Director of Development to lead fundraising, marketing, and community engagement. You’ll drive major gifts, annual giving, grants, and partnerships, reporting to the CEO and supervising a small team.

This role shapes visibility, resources, and impact across Cape Cod. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in nonprofit fundraising, proven grant-writing success, and strong leadership in marketing and donor relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Five+ years nonprofit fundraising and development experience.
• Demonstrated success in major gifts, annual giving, grant writing, donor cultivation, and fundraising strategy.
• Experience leading marketing, communications, public relations, and website management.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
• Strong grant writing and proposal development experience.
• Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, businesses, foundations, faith communities, government agencies, and community partners.
• Experience with donor databases and CRM systems; Little Green Light experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports the organization’s mission and priorities.
• Lead annual fundraising initiatives, including major gifts, annual giving, and donor campaigns.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and government funding sources.
• Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective donors and funding opportunities.
• Oversee donor recognition and stewardship programs to strengthen long-term donor engagement.
• Manage fundraising events, direct mail campaigns, and other charitable giving initiatives.
• Oversee all aspects of the grants program, including grant research, proposal development, submission, reporting, compliance.
• Manage external grant-writing support and ensure timely deliverables.
• Oversee donor and prospect research utilizing appropriate resources.
• Monitor fundraising results and analyze data to identify growth opportunities.
