Job summary

Habitat for Humanity Monterey Bay seeks a Director of Development to lead fundraising, donor engagement, and development operations to secure revenue for homebuilding and programs in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. This exempt, full-time role focuses on growing sustainable revenue and strengthening donor relationships to advance the organization’s mission.

The Director will plan campaigns, mentor staff, manage donor databases, and collaborate with partners and volunteers to increase support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum 3 years experience in nonprofit fundraising, development, donor relations, or similar role.

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and manage annual fundraising strategies to meet revenue goals.
• Supervise and mentor the Fundraising and Development Manager and collaborate across staff and Board.
• Lead donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship for individuals, major donors, and monthly donors.
• Develop and execute online fundraising initiatives and seasonal campaigns.
• Coordinate grant deadlines and work with Grant Writer to submit applications.
• Support events, outreach, and public communications as needed.
