Job summary

Squarespace is seeking a Director, Corporate Communications to own and lead the company’s internal and external communications functions from its New York City base.

This hybrid role requires 3 days in the NYC office, with the General Counsel as reporting line, and a mandate to set strategy, advise executives, shape the company narrative, and build scalable programs that boost employee understanding, reputation, and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own the company’s communications strategy
• Develop and maintain a consistent narrative for consumer and B2B audiences
• Advise executive leadership and prepare leadership for media, speaking, and investor engagements
• Build relationships with reporters, editors, and producers across tech, business, and vertical press
• Draft press materials including releases, pitches, briefings, and contributed articles
• Lead communications initiatives in select jurisdictions outside the United States
• Manage reactive and crisis communications
• Collaborate with Product and Marketing on launch plans for features, campaigns, and milestones
• Translate technical info into clear, newsworthy narratives for diverse audiences
• Support leadership communications, including internal announcements and external thought leadership
• Plan and execute quarterly All Hands meetings
• Develop internal communications cadence to keep employees informed
• Manage intranet content and presentation
• Oversee agency relationships and external vendors
• Track and report on communications KPIs and coverage metrics
