Job summary

AAA is seeking a Director of Compensation to lead enterprise-wide compensation architecture, governance, and incentive programs from its Walnut Creek, CA office. You will shape job structures, salary scales, and equity initiatives across the organization while partnering with executives and HR to attract and retain top talent.

You will drive analytics, model compensation scenarios, and oversee annual review cycles, ensuring regulatory compliance and alignment with business goals.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years of related professional compensation experience, including leadership in corporate and variable compensation.
• Expertise in designing and governing cyclical merit processes, salary structures, and automated enterprise Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) systems.
• Demonstrated track record of directly advising senior leaders on sensitive pay equity, incentive compensation, and complex job architecture initiatives.
• Workday HCM experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and governance of the organizational job structure and catalog, title leveling frameworks, salary structures, and internal equity.
• Oversee corporate and incentive compensation programs, ensuring compliance and equity.
• Manage end-to-end incentive events and performance matrices.
• Collaborate with executives and HR to attract and retain talent.
• Lead integration of Varicent into compensation processes.
