Job summary

The City of Delray Beach is seeking a qualified professional to lead the Code Compliance Department, overseeing Code Enforcement and Clean and Safe Divisions. The role reports to the City Manager and drives compliance, policy development, and community engagement.

Responsibilities include guiding staff, presenting to the City Commission, managing the department budget, and fostering innovation and accountability throughout the division. FACE certification is required within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Planning or Business Administration or related field.
• 7 years in management or supervisory position in code compliance or related field.
• FACE certification or obtain it within 6 months of the hire date.
• Knowledge of City Code of Ordinances and code enforcement policies and procedures.
• Ability to manage and prioritize routine, specialized and complex assignments.

Responsibilities

• Manages staff work assignments in Code Enforcement and Clean and Safe Divisions, promoting voluntary compliance with codes.
• Provides leadership and management over code compliance processes and staff.
• Develops and implements departmental policies and procedures.
• Staffs and develops Code Compliance team in accordance with City policies.
• Attends meetings of City Commission and Special Magistrate.
• Prepares and presents agenda items in compliance with City Code of Ordinances and Land Development Regulations.
