Job summary

SourcePro Search, LLC seeks a Director of Manufacturing Engineering & Technology to lead hands-on CNC manufacturing, process development, tooling design, and shop-floor problem solving in the New York area. The role combines practical automation and AI integration with active technical leadership on the manufacturing floor.

Qualifications

• Significant manufacturing engineering experience in CNC environments with hands-on problem solving.
• Experience methodizing new work and developing processes from drawings to production.
• Strong CNC programming, machining practices, tools, and fixture design knowledge.
• Shop-floor troubleshooting and practical corrective actions guidance.
• Interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, and complex manufacturing needs.
• Proven success in driving measurable manufacturing improvements.
• Experience implementing digital manufacturing tools, CNC connectivity, automation, or modernization initiatives.
• Experience leading technical teams while remaining hands-on.

Responsibilities

• Hands-On manufacturing engineering: lead routings, setups, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions.
• Provide technical support for CNC programming, setup optimization, machining issues, and troubleshooting.
• Lead tooling and fixture design, development, selection, and implementation.
• Collaborate with machinists, programmers, and operators to resolve manufacturing problems.
• Improve cycle times, tool life, process capability, and throughput.
• Support new product introduction and transition to stable production.
