Job summary

GRAEF is seeking a Director of Civil Engineering to provide firmwide leadership for one of our largest technical communities. This role reports to the Chief Technical Officer and focuses on advancing technical excellence, quality, and collaboration across offices while mentoring the next generation of leaders.

The position offers engagement in project work and opportunities to influence the future of civil engineering at GRAEF, with a flexible hybrid schedule and strong client relationship

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license preferred or required.
• Minimum of 12 years of civil engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of firmwide technical standards, best practices, quality processes, and resources.
• Promote collaboration and work-sharing across offices and connect projects with the right expertise.
• Support onboarding, mentoring, technical training, and succession planning within the Civil Engineering Technical Community.
• Partner with firm leadership on technical strategy, innovation, recruiting, business planning, and business development.
• Remain actively engaged in project leadership, management, design, and oversight, providing expertise on complex projects.

12+ years civil engineering experience
