Job summary

GRAEF is seeking a Director of Civil Engineering to provide firmwide leadership for one of our largest technical communities. Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, this role advances technical excellence, strengthens quality, and promotes collaboration across offices while developing the next generation of civil engineering leaders.

The role remains engaged with project work and supports client relationships, strategic planning, and technology investments that strengthen GRAEF's civil

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license preferred or required depending on jurisdiction.
• Minimum 12 years of civil engineering experience with leadership experience.
• Strong communication, collaboration and mentoring skills are essential.
• Demonstrated technical excellence and staff development focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead firmwide technical standards, best practices and quality processes.
• Promote collaboration across offices and connect projects with the right expertise.
• Develop people through onboarding, mentoring and succession planning.
• Shape strategic technical direction including recruiting, business planning and client development.
• Remain actively engaged in project leadership and risk management.
