GRAEF is seeking a Director of Civil Engineering to provide firmwide leadership for one of our largest technical communities. Reporting to the Chief Technical Officer, this role advances technical excellence, strengthens quality, promotes collaboration across offices, and develops the next generation of civil engineering leaders.

You will remain engaged in project work while guiding standards, mentoring staff, shaping strategy, recruiting, and pursuing business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum of 12 years of civil engineering experience.
• Demonstrated technical and leadership experience.
• Strong communication, collaboration and mentoring skills.
• Passion for technical excellence and staff development.

Responsibilities

• Lead firmwide technical standards and quality processes for civil engineering.
• Promote cross-office collaboration and share project expertise.
• Develop people and future leaders through mentoring and training.
• Shape technical strategy and invest in emerging technologies.
• Remain engaged in projects with leadership, design, and risk management.
• Support client relationships and project pursuits.
