Summary
The Director of Catering oversees all aspects of catering sales and management, including development, planning, and execution of sales strategies. The role involves negotiating and closing sales, exceeding catering goals, and creating tailored proposals to surpass guest expectations.
Responsibilities
- Generate and develop new catering business
- Maintain and nurture relationships with new and existing clients
- Review catering contracts and coordinate with departments
- Engage in extensive guest contact both externally and internally
- Ensure customer satisfaction and develop need-based marketing relations
- Achieve conference revenue targets
- Actively pursue new business accounts
- Ensure accurate contract completion and execution
- Provide exceptional service to clients
- Create and implement sales growth strategies
- Conduct site tours for potential clients
- Maintain strong communication and responsiveness
- Represent the company professionally
- Analyze client needs and promote services accordingly
- Serve as liaison between clients and operations
- Demonstrate professionalism, friendliness, and motivation
- Pay attention to detail and follow through
- Organize effectively and perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise department staff directly and indirectly
- Conduct hiring, training, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions in accordance with policies and laws
