JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: LWP Catering Staff Specialist

CLASSIFICATION CODE: NON-EXEMPT FULL TIME

DEPARTMENT: LIVING WITH PURPOSE

REPORTS TO: LIVING WITH PURPOSE CATERING SITE SUPERVISOR

STATEMENT OF JOB: The LWP Catering Staff Specialist is responsible for providing Catering Support for agency sponsored events, on and off the ABHS campus in a safe, clean, healthy working environment. These events offer services for the White Mountain Apache Tribe under the authority of Apache Behavioral Health Services.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ability to provide food catering services for Apache Behavioral Health Services and to be moderately physically healthy and able to stay on his/her feet for hours each day as well as bend, climb, lift, and move objects (at least 25 pounds).
  2. Participation in all required ABHS meetings and training, including weekly staff meetings.
  3. Maintain a strict code of ethics regarding client confidentiality adhering to all HIPAA standards and regulations.
  4. Responsible for cleaning, as associated with maintenance and upkeep of kitchen/catering area, to include proper disposal of garbage.
  5. Clean and sanitize kitchen area.
  6. Requisition supplies and equipment needed for catering duties.
  7. Maintain inventory of catering supplies and ABHS property and conduct annual inventory or as requested from supervisor for reporting purposes.
  8. Demonstrates ability to work productively and harmoniously with supervisors and co-workers.
  9. Effectively utilizes work time to ensure all assignments are completed in a thorough, timely manner and follow through on all commitments.
  10. Perform other tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  11. Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  12. Able to work early mornings, and/or late evenings.
  13. Batch cookery (cook and prepare food for 500+).
  14. Knowledge of food safety regulations and basic kitchen requirements.
  15. Placing orders, receiving, and stocking items from vendor (Shamrock).
  16. Handling money and working the cash register.
  17. Meal and menu planning.
  18. Able to multi-task orders and job duties.
  19. Manage laptop/work phone (work orders will all be online).
  20. Documentation and record keeping.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  2. Ability to pass all pre-employment testing, including, but not limited to, fingerprint clearance and background check.
  3. Must be a minimum of 18 years old.
  4. Must demonstrate interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams, managers, and supervisors.
  5. High School Diploma/GED.
  6. Food Handlers Card.
  7. Must have transportation to and from work.

PREFERRED:

  1. At least 1 year experience working with Native Americans.
