Chartwells Higher Education, part of Compass Group USA, is seeking a Food Service Director of Operations for the University of Chicago. You will oversee day-to-day dining operations, drive financial performance, ensure health and safety standards, and maintain top-tier food quality across multiple units on campus.

Qualifications

• Five years of foodservice management experience required.
• Higher Education hospitality or board/retail operations experience is required.
• Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is required.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation, and presentation.
• Strong leadership, with ability to supervise and develop staff.

Responsibilities

• Formulates budgets and plans for the operation.
• Maintains and implements standards of quality in all areas of the foodservice operation.
• Ensures compliance with regional and account programs and policies.
• Accountable for accurate reporting for the account.
• Maintain client and customer happiness by ensuring quality and service standards.
• Supervise hiring, training, and development of staff.
• Prepare and complete daily, weekly, and financial reports on food and labor costs.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Strengthen client relationships to align programs with objectives.
• Perform other duties to support dining operations.
