Job description

Celebrating our 40th anniversary in 2023, Source Advisors is one of the largest independent firms in a diverse and fragmented market. We are experts in tax incentives, including the Research and Development tax credit, cost segregation studies, green incentives including 179D, 45L, and Energy Star, LIFO inventory solutions, the ERTC, fixed asset and tangible property reviews, and more. We provide tax consulting, tax studies, and related services to businesses both nationally and internationally.

The Director of Business Development

With a focus on the top CPA firms in the country as key channel partners, the Director of Business Development will be responsible and accountable for achieving sales quotas/targets, meeting activity and business development metrics, and collaborating across the organization to fuel success. The Director will represent Source Advisors to businesses and their CPAs in need of tax incentives and consulting services. Successful Directors accomplish this through a consultative selling model and strong prospecting, selling through a combination of channel partners (e.g., CPA firms, real estate owners/investors) and direct end-clients (e.g., business taxpayers). Directors operate within an assigned group of accounts and may work remotely from anywhere in the lower 48 states.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Sell the Source suite of offerings persuasively, persistently, and confidently to CPAs and their end clients
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets
  • Develop new clients and referral sources within the assigned territory
  • Educate CPAs, business owners, and C-level executives
  • Represent Source Advisors and our services to end-clients, CPAs, accountants, industry organizations, and more
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop winning client proposals and solutions
  • Resolve customer complaints, staffing problems, and other issues that may interfere with efficient sales operations
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop sales quotas and strategies
  • Engage in sales and marketing campaigns to raise awareness of Source Advisors and our value creation
  • Effectively enter and manage CRM (e.g., Salesforce) data to ensure proper business management
  • Forecast expected business results on a monthly basis
  • Support the growth objectives of multiple Source Advisor’s practices
  • Travel as needed to execute the mission
Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience selling consultative tax services to CPAs and/or commercial property owners
  • 10+ years of experience in tax, accounting, or successfully leading business development in a related field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study
  • Experience in the accounting industry
  • Ability to sell to C-level positions within client and prospect organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to influence decision-makers at key levels
  • Experience with CRM platforms - Salesforce preferred
  • Ability to travel within the assigned area
  • Commitment to integrity and quality in business
  • Excellent initiative and interpersonal skills
