Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking an Executive Underwriting Director in Brokerage Excess to drive strategy, financial performance, and growth for a regional Excess portfolio. The role focuses on broker relationships, marketing, and territory management within the E&S/S specialty lines.

Leading a team of underwriters, you will influence product development, manage risk, and ensure attainment of financial metrics while collaborating with leaders across underwriting and distribution

Qualifications

• Underwriting leadership for large or complex accounts.
• Experience with Excess & Surplus lines and broker channels.
• Strong knowledge of underwriting practices and market conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead risk selection and drive appetite guidelines for the territory.
• Develop and manage broker relationships and drive marketing visits.
• Oversee territory performance, pricing, and losses with guidance.
• Mentor junior underwriters and contribute to QC audits.
• Collaborate on strategic plans and business objectives.
