Job summary

BlackRock is seeking a Director, AI and Security Architecture to define and advance security for AI-enabled systems across enterprise platforms and client-facing products. The role leads security architecture for LLM apps, RAG pipelines, and agent-based workflows, blending deep technical expertise with cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, security or cloud security.
• Experience leading security initiatives across teams and boundaries.
• Deep understanding of distributed, cloud-native platforms and modern software delivery.
• Ability to define strategy, standards, and scalable security operating models.
• Experience with threat modeling, secure design reviews, and risk reduction.

Responsibilities

• Define AI security strategy and security architecture roadmap for platforms and products.
• Establish firmwide security standards, guardrails, and governance for AI systems and tools.
• Lead reviews, threat modeling, and risk assessments for high-risk AI initiatives.
• Drive security outcomes for LLM apps, RAG pipelines, and agent workflows.
• Identify and remediate risks like prompt injection, data exposure, and insecure paths.
• Lead security architecture discussions across engineering and product teams.
• Design AI security guardrails, tooling, and CI/CD integrated tests.
• Serve as senior security partner to AI platform, product, and engineering leadership.
• Mentor security engineers and strengthen capabilities across teams.
