Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies seeks a Director of AI-Powered Diagnostics & Service to unite teams across cloud, in-vehicle systems and firmware. You will shape AI assistants, agents, and reusable skills enabling technicians to move from fault code to repair, across Rivian and VW Group vehicles.

You will partner with OEMs to tailor tooling, lead a multi-disciplinary org, and drive diagnostics innovation that improves turnaround time, first-time fix rates, and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 10+ years leading complex engineering and product organizations.
• Hands-on experience with agents, LLMs, and AI-powered software.
• Track record of hardware-to-software product lifecycles.
• Experience across joint ventures or multi-OEM programs.
• Strong product judgment and customer-centric approach.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional influence.
• Clear communicator of complex diagnostic/AI tradeoffs.
• Background in vehicle electrical, electronic and software architectures.
• Bachelor's or master's in Electrical/Mechanical/CS or related field.

Responsibilities

• Set direction for AI-powered diagnostics and service tooling.
• Lead a multi-disciplinary organization across cloud, in-vehicle, firmware, and product teams.
• Partner with OEMs to tailor tools for vehicle content and service needs.
• Build diagnostic and repair tools used in service centers and factories.
• Connect vehicle state to service outcomes and business metrics.
