Job summary

Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking a Staff Software Engineer focused on agentic applications and GenAI platform design. You will shape architecture, drive LLM integration, and lead cognitive automation initiatives at scale across the organization.

You will own end-to-end development, set standards for scalable, observable systems, and collaborate with ML engineers, product teams, and executives to deliver impactful, production‑grade tools.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• Advanced degree in CS, ML, or related field.
• Deep expertise in building large‑scale distributed systems leveraging LLMs.
• Proven ability to drive org‑wide technical impact and consensus.
• Strong knowledge of cloud and container ecosystems (AWS, Kubernetes).
• Proven production experience with agentic applications and cognitive automation.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own agentic systems at org-wide scale using LLMs to automate workflows.
• Define LLM integration strategy and serve as primary technical decision-maker.
• Lead the cognitive automation roadmap with product and exec alignment.
• Champion scalable system design and production-grade ML tooling.
• Establish engineering standards and drive org-wide best practices.
• Disseminate knowledge and raise the technical bar across teams.
• Collaborate with ML engineers, product teams, and leadership at the executive level.
