Qualifications

• Strong experience with school-age youth and afterschool/camp programs.
• Demonstrated leadership and staff supervision abilities.
• Willingness to listen to children and families and adapt programs when needed.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience considered.
• Ability to meet YMCA licensing and child-safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow afterschool, school-out-day, holiday break, summer camp and specialty camp programming.
• Create age-appropriate experiences for younger elementary, upper elementary, preteen and teen participants.
• Build enrichment around interests such as STEM, arts, music, sports, wellness, outdoor exploration, service, leadership and life skills.
• Use youth voice and community feedback to pilot new programs.
• Develop school, business, college and community partnerships.
• Recruit, train and develop staff as youth-development professionals.
• Ensure excellent child safety, program quality and licensing compliance.
• Manage program budgets, staffing models, enrollment and capacity with sustainability.
