Job summary

STRIVE seeks a results-oriented Director of NYC Programs to lead New York operations, overseeing Career Path, Future Leaders, and Fresh Start. You will guide strategy, budgeting, and performance while building strong partnerships with employers and community partners.

You will supervise a diverse team, drive data-driven decision making, ensure program quality, and support growth of STRIVE’s workforce development initiatives in New York.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree strongly preferred or 7+ years of progressive workforce development experience with 3+ years in a senior leadership role.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams across multiple departments, including business development, recruitment, and direct service delivery.
• Strong financial acumen with experience budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.
• Proven ability to establish partnerships with employers, funders, and community organizations.
• Knowledge of labor market trends and sector-based training models for diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for STRIVE New York programs (Career Path, Future Leaders, Fresh Start).
• Hire, train, supervise, and develop a diverse, high-performing staff across program areas.
• Oversee program models, career readiness, sector-based training, job placement, and long-term retention strategies.
• Manage program budgets and resources to meet performance targets and ensure sustainability.
• Lead strategic planning for expansion and alignment across STRIVE’s national initiatives.
• Build partnerships with employers, funders, and government agencies to extend program reach.
• Ensure data integrity and reporting using systems like Apricot; monitor performance metrics.
• Collaborate with leadership to communicate strategies to funders and stakeholders.
