Job summary

Forvis Mazars Washington National Tax Office seeks a Director to lead compensation and benefits tax work and act as a national thought leader. You will monitor legislation, guidance, and case law, translating complex issues into meaningful client communications and education.

You will collaborate with the broader team to develop innovative service offerings, build client relationships, and expand national tax capabilities while upholding technical excellence and an unmatched client experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation, or Juris Doctor.
• Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Providing insights and analysis on evolving legislation, guidance and case law to the Firm team and their clients.
• Building the Firm network of key relationships within the tax community.
• Providing relevant information through existing channels so legislators and those tasked with governance are adequately informed about tax policy issues and the practical implementation considerations that impact Forvis Mazars and our clients.
• Identifying opportunities to create new service offerings or improve existing services.
• Developing and deploying service model platforms, strategies and solutions based on judicial or legislative developments.
• Driving the creation and launch of new national tax service lines in collaboration with the Tax Specialty team.
• Growing the Firm’s brand as a thought leader in tax through publishing, presenting and other market facing opportunities.
• Supporting Firm tax professionals as an active member of the tax strategy team on selected proposals and key client matters.
• Completing engagements for complex, high value specialty work.
