Wella Operations US LLC is seeking a Director to lead the Marketing and Digital IP practice within the global IP team based in New York, hybrid work arrangement. The role focuses on managing IP rights across marketing, digital content, social media, and domain assets globally, with emphasis on US markets.

The candidate will drive risk management, licensing frameworks, and training programs to protect the company’s IP assets while aligning with business goals.

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with strong experience in IP law, including copyright, digital media, and content licensing.
• Background in trademark law is a plus.
• Experience advising on digital platform policies and content takedown mechanisms.

Responsibilities

• Lead Marketing & Digital IP strategy as the primary IP partner for global marketing and digital content.
• Manage licensing negotiations for digital content, music, images, and user-generated content.
• Oversee risk assessment for campaigns, social media, influencers, and online marketing initiatives.
• Coordinate with Brand Protection and cross-functional teams to prevent IP risks pre-publication.
• Respond to third-party IP claims, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
