Job summary

Summit Therapeutics Inc. is seeking a Director of Market Access Payer Accounts for the Northeast, a remote-field role based in the Northeast US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10+ years biotech/pharmaceutical experience.
• Minimum of 5+ years of focused account management experience in the oncology access marketplace.
• Demonstrated success in engaging with US payers, MACs, PBMs, and IDNs.
• Strong understanding of the US healthcare payer/access landscape.
• Excellent strategic thinking, leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
• Travel: Ability to travel to support business priorities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Establish and deepen relationships with target payers and decision makers.
• Cover accounts including Evernorth/Cigna, Highmark, UPMC, Horizon, CareFirst, BCBS MI/MA, MACs, Medicaid.
• Influence coverage policies and contracts for timely access.
• Develop brand access strategies and account plans; resolve access issues.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs to communicate drug candidates to payers.
• Support patient journey with Patient Services; assist in coverage issues.
• Assist Regional Sales with payer-driven strategies.
• Engage formulary, P&T, and pathway leaders to secure access.
• Lead cross-functional discussions to align on access and reimbursement strategies.
• Foster high-performance culture and stay informed on payer trends.
