  • Direct experience supporting transactions with large load / data center customers is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working for AI, data center, large industrial load, semiconductor manufacturing or similar large energy consumption loads is desirable.
  • Deep knowledge of generation technologies: combined-cycle and simple-cycle gas turbines, reciprocating engines, solar PV, wind, and Li-ion BESS.
  • Strong understanding of interconnection processes, queue reform, and behind-the-meter configurations across multiple ISOs/RTOs.

  • Proficiency interpreting financial models (project finance, tax equity, back-leverage structures) and key metrics (NPV, IRR, DSCR, LCOE/LCOS).
  • Familiarity with NEPA, CWA, ESA, and state siting regimes and air permitting for thermal generation.
  • Track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple high-priority workstreams.
  • Excellent written, oral, and visual communication skills, with ability to present complex matters to executives and boards.

Responsibilities

  • Originate, structure, plan, and secure development of generation projects nationally for large load customers, including hyperscale data centers and industrial offtakers.
  • Oversee macro end-to-end development with engineering, permitting, routing, scheduling, resource planning, and interconnections.
  • Structure PPAs, ESAs, tolling agreements, capacity contracts, and hybrid offtake arrangements with commercial teams.
  • Coordinate with legal, finance, corporate, regulatory, and community stakeholders as needed.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of conventional, renewable, and hybrid generation opportunities aligned with NGV’s strategy.
  • Advance project approvals from origination through FID and into construction, ensured by project delivery teams.
  • Engage with customers and their technical teams to support sales and contracting.
  • Model project economics including LCOE/LCOS, IRR analyses, and sensitivity checks.
  • Support site control, permitting, interconnection, and risk assessment for development milestones.
  • Select OEM technology partners and EPC contractors, define balance-of-plant scope.
  • Navigate IRA tax credits, interconnection reforms, and siting board processes across states.
  • Represent NGV in stakeholder forums with ISOs/RTOs, regulators, communities, and tribal nations.
