Job summary

GridStor is seeking a Large Loads Solutions Engineer to lead technical discussions with hyperscalers and data center developers. You will own the technical aspects of large-load opportunities, blending design, economic dispatch understanding, and stakeholder management to move projects toward Final Investment Decision.

This role reports to the Director of Preconstruction and is based in Portland, OR with a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related field (Master's preferred).
• 5+ years in technical sales, applications engineering or systems engineering in renewable energy or critical power.
• Direct experience in data center power systems highly preferred.
• Hybrid work schedule; based in Portland, OR, or willing to relocate to hub offices.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual to 30% designs for hybrid storage+generation systems.
• Advance design packages to 30% with site layouts and diagrams ready for FID.
• Own technical components of RFI/RFPs for large loads and BOM decisions.
• Support modeling and grid simulations for dispatch, voltage ride-through, and grid-forming.
• Prepare technical exhibits for offtake agreements with cross-functional partners.
