Job summary

Vertex Inc. needs a senior leader to direct architecture, delivery, security, and operations of enterprise laboratory technology platforms across San Diego.

This role serves as the site’s primary DTE partner for the SVP and research leadership, shaping requirements into a clear platform backlog and coordinating cross-functional delivery across Laboratory Solutions and peer DTE teams. The role requires strong people leadership, deep cyber security and ITSM knowledge, and a proven ability to

Qualifications

• 10+ years of leadership experience managing enterprise-scale technology platforms.
• Proven ability to lead lab technology and related support organizations.
• Experience operating in GxP- and SOX-regulated environments.
• Experience acting as a product owner or demand-shaping partner.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, delivery, security, and evolution of enterprise lab tech platforms across IT/OT.
• Build and sustain relationships with senior business, quality, and DTE leaders.
• Manage budget, vendor relationships, and cross-functional platform backlogs.
• Drive modernization of lab environments with automation and connected devices.
• Develop and retain top talent and ensure high-performing teams.
