Job summary

Vertex in Boston is seeking a senior leader to oversee enterprise laboratory technology platforms across LC1/2, partnering with site leadership to shape the platform backlog in a regulated GxP and SOX environment.

You will own the operating budget, lead a Lab Engineering Support organization, and drive modernization, change management, and cross-site prioritization. Translate scientist needs into structured, prioritized backlog items while ensuring compliance and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in technology discipline or equivalent.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in the Cell & Gene Therapy space, general modality fluency is sufficient; deep hands-on process/manufacturing experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lab Engineering Support organization and partner via MSP model.
• Ensure secure, compliant lab tech operations across IT/OT aligned to standards.
• Own and manage site operating budget with financial accountability.
• Act as primary DTE owner for LC1/2 technology adoption and demand shaping.
• Capture requirements from scientists and translate into prioritized backlog.
• Drive platform modernization and adoption with cross-site visibility.
• Represent site voice in cross-site prioritization forums.
