Job summary

Covington & Burling LLP seeks a Director of Knowledge Management (KM) and Practice Technology to lead the KM and Practice Technology team across Corporate, Litigation, Regulatory, and White Collar. The role partners with practice groups to identify opportunities, deploy solutions, and proliferate successful approaches firmwide.

The director will align KM with AI readiness, govern knowledge content, and drive adoption through training and enablement, reporting to the Senior Director of AI.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, deploying, and scaling KM or practice technology solutions with measurable impact.
• Strong understanding of legal workflows, metadata, taxonomies, and matter intelligence.
• Excellent leadership and change management skills with senior stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead KM and Practice Technology teams across multiple practice areas.
• Define firmwide standards for KM and practice technology, including taxonomies and AI-ready knowledge assets.
• Oversee design, deployment, adoption, and maintenance of KM solutions like precedent libraries and matter intelligence repositories.
• Ensure KM resources are actively operationalized within legal workflows.
