Job summary

Arootah, a leading alternative investment manager, is seeking a Director, Investment Operations to join its operations team supporting a diverse credit investment platform. This senior role oversees the operational lifecycle across investment products and coordinates between investment teams and outsourced service providers.

Working closely with portfolio management, finance, legal, compliance, investor relations, technology, and fund accounting, you will strengthen operational infrastructure,

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in investment operations, middle office, fund operations, loan operations, or alternative asset management.
  • Strong understanding of private credit, structured credit, specialty finance, commercial real estate debt, or related workflows.
  • Experience overseeing outsourced service providers, fund administrators, or middle-office operating models.
  • Familiarity with complex credit products, financing structures, and investment transaction lifecycles.
  • Experience supporting fund launches, separately managed accounts, or new platform initiatives is preferred.
  • Strong grasp of operational controls, reconciliation processes, cash management, and governance best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operational lifecycle of credit investments from trade execution through funding, servicing, repayments, restructurings, and portfolio exit activity.
  • Serve as the primary operations oversight contact for assigned investment products, funds, and investment teams.
  • Oversee the performance of outsourced middle- and back-office service providers, ensuring operational accuracy and timely execution.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and third-party providers to support new fund launches, separately managed accounts, financing structures, and strategic initiatives.
  • Review operational activity including trade processing, cash movements, reconciliations, position reporting, and investment data for completeness and accuracy.
  • Support the development and enhancement of operational controls, governance frameworks, and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with portfolio management, finance, legal, compliance, technology, investor relations, and fund accounting teams to deliver scalable support.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, data quality, automation, and reporting capabilities.
  • Support operational due diligence meetings with investors, counterparties, auditors, and other stakeholders.
  • Contribute to strategic projects focused on operational efficiency, technology enhancements, and platform scalability.

About The Role

Our client, a leading alternative investment manager, is seeking a Director, Investment Operations to join its operations team supporting a diverse credit investment platform. This role is designed for a senior investment operations professional who will oversee the operational lifecycle across a broad range of investment products while serving as a key point of coordination between investment teams and outsourced service providers.

Working closely with portfolio management, finance, legal, compliance, investor relations, technology, and fund accounting, this individual will help strengthen the firm's operational infrastructure, support strategic growth initiatives, and ensure a strong operational control environment across the investment platform.

  • Experience overseeing outsourced service providers, fund administrators, or middle-office operating models.
  • Familiarity with complex credit products, financing structures, and investment transaction lifecycles.
  • Experience supporting fund launches, separately managed accounts, or new investment platform initiatives is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of operational controls, reconciliation processes, cash management, and governance best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across investment, finance, legal, compliance, and technology teams.
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant professional certifications are a plus.

Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience. In addition to base salary, the position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus.
