Role
The Operations Analyst will join a highly collaborative and engaged investment operations team, supporting daily portfolio operations for the firm’s institutional credit platform and alternative investment portfolios. This role will engage with portfolio managers, traders, tax, compliance, legal accounting, operations teams, and third-party service providers in supporting the daily portfolio activities for hedge funds and structured products. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the securities trade life cycle, demonstrated experience with private debt, bank loans, and fixed income.
Key Responsibilities
The candidate can expect to:
- Private Credit Operations: Support day-to-day operational activities across private credit investments, including direct lending, CLOs, syndicated loans, and other credit strategies.
- Transaction Execution & Settlement: Coordinate with Investment, Finance, Treasury, Legal, Compliance, and external counterparties to support timely and accurate deal closings, funding, and settlement.
- Agent & Administrator Coordination: Work closely with fund administrators, agents, custodians, and counterparties to monitor settlement pipelines, investigate breaks, and help resolve funding or settlement issues.
- Trade & Loan Processing: Support trade capture, settlements, internal transfers, fund-level KYC, and ongoing loan activity using platforms such as ClearPar, Loan IQ, WSO, and IHS Markit.
- Asset-Based Finance Experience: Experience supporting asset-based finance or structured credit investments, including consumer, commercial, or specialty finance assets.
- Structured Credit Knowledge: Familiarity with structured credit products and transaction structures, including ABS, warehouse facilities, securitizations, forward-flow arrangements, and other asset-backed lending structures.
- Collateral & Borrowing Base: Experience supporting collateral reporting, borrowing-base calculations, eligibility criteria, concentration limits, and related covenant monitoring.
- Deal Funding & Settlement: Understanding of funding mechanics for warehouse and asset-backed facilities, including drawdowns, paydowns, cash movements, and settlement processes.
- Cash Flow & Waterfall Knowledge: Familiarity with transaction waterfalls, payment priorities, interest and principal allocations, reserve accounts, and other structured-finance cash flows.
- Portfolio Operations: Assist with daily cash and position reconciliations, investment onboarding, corporate actions, loan documentation, and administrator workflows to help maintain accurate books and records.
- Controls & Documentation: Help ensure transaction documentation is properly executed, recorded, and maintained in accordance with LSTA/LMA standards, internal policies, and established operational controls.
- Financial Reporting Support: Partner with Finance and Fund Accounting on quarterly closes, annual audits, data validation, and investment-level reporting.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve workflows, strengthen controls, enhance data quality, and support automation initiatives as the private credit platform grows.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Build strong working relationships across investment, finance, legal, compliance, and operations teams, contributing to best practices and the continued development of the firm’s credit operations framework.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of relevant experience in credit operations, loan operations, trade support, or investment operations, ideally within a private credit fund, alternative asset manager, hedge fund, bank, or other investment platform.
- Private Credit Experience: Experience supporting direct lending, CLOs, syndicated loans, or related credit strategies, with a solid understanding of private credit markets and instruments.
- Transaction Knowledge: Working knowledge of the loan lifecycle, including trade execution, funding, settlement, amendments, corporate actions, and ongoing portfolio administration.
- Industry Systems: Hands‑on experience with platforms such as ClearPar, Loan IQ, WSO, IHS Markit, or similar credit and loan operations systems is preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong Excel and data management skills, with an interest in using technology and automation to improve operational processes and data quality.
- Ownership & Collaboration: Ability to take ownership of day-to-day operational responsibilities, coordinate with external service providers, and work effectively with investment, finance, legal, compliance, and other internal teams.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify and investigate operational issues, reconcile discrepancies, and work collaboratively to drive issues through resolution.
