Job summary

HDR is seeking a Business Class Director for Integrated Watershed Management to lead and coordinate HDR’s watershed-related service lines across markets and regions. You will mentor technical leaders, drive strategic planning, and ensure high-quality project delivery while advancing HDR’s employee-owned culture.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 10+ years of leadership experience, and professional registration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years in a related field.
• Professionally registered (Architecture/Engineering) for technical design leadership roles.
• Experience building and leading diverse teams.
• Ability to collaborate with other business class directors, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.

Responsibilities

• Provide company-wide leadership of technical capabilities within the business class.
• Build relationships and coordinate with related business classes, market sectors, and operations.
• Lead technical risk management through process and resource reviews and advise on projects.
• Drive quality assurance and control processes and coordinate with the Quality Manager.
• Oversee development of tools, standards, and techniques to enhance service quality and efficiency.
• Develop strategic plans for the business class with market sector directors.
• Foster teamwork and communication across offices and functions.
• Monitor direction, policies, quality assurance, and staffing needs.
• Recruit and train to grow technical capacity within the group.
• Support client development and project pursuits with subject-matter leadership.
• Represent HDR in industry organizations and events.
