Job summary

The New York Times Company is seeking a Director, HR Business Partner to support Product Engineering and Technology and partner with the CTO and CPO. You will manage a small team and directly support employees, reporting to the VP, HR Business Partners. This role drives a people strategy aligned with enterprise goals.

Based in our New York City headquarters, the role is hybrid with 3+ days in the office. You’ll lead performance, lifecycle management, and HR initiatives while upholding

Qualifications

• 10+ years of increasing HR Business Partner experience and responsibility in technology or adjacent teams.
• 5+ years of experience leading people with a focus on building an inclusive team.
• Experience working with HRIS such as Workday or SuccessFactors.

Responsibilities

• Be an advisor, partner, and coach to senior leaders and managers across the Technology group, including CTO and CPO.
• Lead and develop a two-person HR Business Partners team.
• Provide daily support to senior leaders, managers, and employees, managing lifecycles and performance processes.
• Lead planning and implementation of department-level people initiatives to meet needs.
• Partner with COEs to deliver impactful people initiatives and collect feedback for refinement.
• Monitor talent needs and HR priorities in line with business plans and trends.
• Collaborate with leadership to foster an inclusive workplace and monitor progress.
• Develop and interpret people metrics to identify trends and inform HR strategy and cross-functional initiatives.
• Work with Employee Relations, Talent Management, and Legal to resolve issues and ensure compliance.
