This role is critical during a period of rapid growth for DP World Contract Logistics in the Americas Region. The Director of HSE will foster a strong safety culture across all operations (existing and new), identify, assess, and mitigate potential hazards and risks across all contract logistics operations, lead and manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of HSE programs in line with established Global standards, and ensure compliance with all regulations and industry best practices to enable safe execution and delivery of a sustainable operation that meets the DP World standard for high-performing contract logistics operations.

You will lead a dedicated HSE team and partner closely with quality, engineering, human resources, operations, and other critical functions to deliver a safety culture and performance that consistently meets the DP World Contract Logistics standard. This is a highly collaborative leadership role requiring strong operational knowledge, team leadership, and the ability to manage complexity across stakeholders.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Foster a strong safety culture that prioritizes the health, safety, and well-being of all employees and stakeholders
  • Encourage employee participation in HSE activities
  • Recognize and reward positive safety behaviors
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential hazards and risks across all contract logistics operations
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and develop mitigation plans
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE programs, policies, and procedures compliant with ISO 45001 and 14001
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement
  • Stay current with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards
  • Ensure all operations comply with applicable regulations and standards
  • Collaborate with clients and contractors to ensure safe and compliant operations
  • Maintain accurate records of all HSE activities and incidents
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Develop and deliver effective HSE training programs to all employees and contractors
  • Communicate HSE information and updates to all stakeholders
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on HSE performance to management
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Environmental Science, Safety Management, Engineering) or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience in a health, safety, and environmental role, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry
  • 5+ years of multi-site leadership experience in a health, safety, and environmental role, preferably in the logistics or transportation industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and ISO related standards (45001, 14001, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success leading teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Skilled in HSE program management, stakeholder communication, and change leadership
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies required
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills at all levels
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)) are a plus
