Squad Health is building at the forefront of AI and drug innovation tackling large-scale operational challenges with technology, speed, and customer obsession. We move quickly, operate with high ownership, and work closely with customers to solve real-world problems at scale. As we continue to expand, we are looking for exceptional operators in New York who are excited to build, scale, and shape the future of AI-enabled healthcare operations.
Joining Squad Health means working on meaningful problems, collaborating with ambitious teams, and having the opportunity to create measurable impact in a rapidly evolving industry.
The Role
Squad Health is seeking a Director of Life Science Partnerships to build and own our commercial partnerships with pharmaceutical manufacturers. This is a high-ownership role for an experienced pharma commercial leader who can move seamlessly from market strategy and executive relationship development to partnership design, negotiation, and signed agreements.
You will work directly with company leadership to identify where Squad can create meaningful value for pharmaceutical partners, develop the commercial strategy around those opportunities, and build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across Patient Services, Market Access, Commercial, Brand, Trade/Channel, and adjacent functions.
Most importantly, you will be accountable for turning relationships and market insight into measurable commercial outcomes — building a qualified pipeline, advancing complex opportunities, and establishing durable manufacturer partnerships that can become an important part of Squad Health’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Partnership Development: Originate and deepen senior relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers across Patient Services, Market Access, Commercial, Brand, Trade/Channel, and other relevant buying centers.
- Commercial Strategy & Offer Design: Identify high-value use cases, shape the partnership thesis, and develop commercial structures and executive-level business cases that align manufacturer priorities with Squad’s capabilities.
- Full-Cycle Deal Execution: Own opportunities from account strategy and first conversation through discovery, proposal, procurement, legal/compliance coordination, negotiation, and signed agreement.
- Executive Stakeholder Engagement: Build credibility with senior decision-makers, navigate complex buying committees, and create internal champions who can move opportunities forward.
- Market Intelligence: Develop a strong point of view on manufacturer priorities, patient-access challenges, competitive dynamics, emerging partnership models, and where Squad can create differentiated value.
- Pipeline & Forecasting: Maintain a focused, high-quality pipeline with clear next steps, disciplined forecasting, strong CRM hygiene, and executive visibility into deal progression and risk.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with Product and Operations to translate market feedback into commercial priorities, partnership requirements, and scalable operating approaches.
- Commercial Outcomes: Own the path to revenue-producing manufacturer partnerships and help establish a repeatable pharma go-to-market motion as the business scales.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of relevant experience across pharmaceutical partnerships, business development, enterprise sales, patient services, market access, specialty medication access, digital health, hub services, or a closely related commercial function.
- Demonstrated ownership of complex commercial agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers, including personally originating opportunities and driving them through close.
- Strong understanding of how pharmaceutical manufacturers evaluate and purchase solutions across Patient Services, Market Access, Commercial, Brand, Trade/Channel, procurement, legal, and compliance.
- Working knowledge of specialty medication access, patient support, affordability, reimbursement, hub services, or related commercialization workflows.
- Experience navigating long, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles and developing business cases for senior decisionmakers.
- Strong written, verbal, and executive communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas and create compelling commercial narratives.
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where the commercial model and playbook are still being built.
- Must be based in New York or willing to work on-site in New York City.
Skills & Capabilities
- Commercial Judgment Can distinguish an interesting conversation from a real commercial opportunity and knows when to push, restructure, elevate, or walk away.
- Executive Presence Builds credibility quickly with sophisticated senior stakeholders and communicates with clarity, confidence, and sound judgment.
- Strategic Selling Understands account strategy, stakeholder mapping, business-case development, negotiation, and complex deal progression.
- Zero-to-One Building Comfortable creating the target list, narrative, deck, proposal, pipeline rhythm, and commercial playbook before mature infrastructure exists.
- Cross-Functional Influence Can align leadership, Product, Operations, legal/compliance, and external stakeholders without relying on formal authority.
- Ownership & Pace Operates with urgency, follows through reliably, and maintains a high bar for quality while managing multiple high-value opportunities.
