Squad Health is a healthcare technology company focused on specialty medication access. We help medical practices reduce the administrative friction around benefits investigation, prior authorization, patient assistance, and pharmacy routing so care teams can spend less time on manual work and patients can start therapy faster.
We work directly with provider organizations and are expanding the commercial team that brings Squad to more specialty practices across the country.
About the Role
We are building our BDR team to expand Squad’s provider network. You will own the front end of the commercial motion: deciding which practices are worth pursuing, finding the right people, opening conversations, understanding where workflows break down, and creating qualified opportunities for the broader Growth team.
This is not a spray-and-pray appointment-setting role. The bar is not raw activity alone. We care about account selection, message quality, strong first conversations, disciplined follow-up, and meetings that are actually worth taking. You will work close to company leadership, learn directly from the market, and help improve the playbook as we scale.
What You’ll Own
- Build and prioritize a territory of specialty medical practices, provider groups, and relevant decisionmakers.
- Run phone-first outbound supported by thoughtful email, LinkedIn, referrals, and selected industry events.
- Research the practice before reaching out so you understand the specialty, organization, likely workflow pain, and why Squad could matter.
- Write concise, personalized outreach that earns attention instead of relying on generic sequences.
- Run strong first conversations, uncover operational pain, qualify fit, and book the right next step with the Growth team.
- Own follow-up and CRM discipline so promising accounts never disappear between touches.
- Track activity, conversion, objections, and account signals; use the data to improve targeting and messaging.
- Bring what you learn from physicians, administrators, and practice teams back to leadership, so the commercial playbook gets smarter over time.
What We’re Looking For
- 0–3 years of experience in sales, business development, recruiting, customer-facing healthcare, client services, or another competitive high-activity environment.
- Confidence on the phone and the ability to start professional conversations with people you have never met.
- Clear, concise writing and strong judgment about how to personalize a message for different buyers.
- High agency: you can work from an outcome, figure out the next step, and keep moving without waiting for a perfect script.
- Coachability, resilience, and enough self-awareness to review your numbers and improve quickly.
- Strong organization and follow-through across a large prospect list without sacrificing quality.
- Comfort using AI and modern sales tools to improve research, messaging, prioritization, and productivity.
- Interest in building a commercial career in an early-stage company where strong performance can lead to broader Growth, Partnerships, or closing responsibility.
- Ability to work on-site in New York City.
Why Join Squad Health
- Join an early commercial team where your work has a direct connection to provider growth and patient access.
- Work close to company leadership and help shape how Squad approaches the market rather than inheriting a finished script.
- Learn a complex healthcare category while building strong outbound, discovery, and commercial judgment.
- Build toward broader Growth, Partnerships, or Account Executive responsibility as the company scales.
- 100% employer-paid employee health benefits.
- Unlimited PTO.
- Flatiron office in New York City
