Job description

Squad Health is a healthcare technology company focused on specialty medication access. We help medical practices reduce the administrative friction around benefits investigation, prior authorization, patient assistance, and pharmacy routing so care teams can spend less time on manual work and patients can start therapy faster.

We work directly with provider organizations and are building the operating systems, analytics, and cross-functional processes needed to scale that impact across the country

About the Role

We are hiring an Operations Associate for a high-ownership, early-career role within our Strategy & Operations organization. You will work with Strategy & Operations and company leadership on important business problems that cut across Growth, Product, Clinical, and Operations.

This is a hands-on operating role. You will move between analysis and execution: identifying bottlenecks, breaking problems into root causes, analyzing data, developing practical solutions, and helping implement improvements that can scale with our growing customer base.

Your projects may include operating metrics, workflow redesign, market and customer research, business planning, data analysis, internal systems, and other cross-functional priorities. You will receive guidance on priorities and context while being expected to take meaningful ownership of well-defined problems.

What You’ll Own
  • Analyze business and operational performance, identify the underlying drivers of problems, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and help redesign workflows so teams can move faster with clearer ownership and fewer manual handoffs.
  • Partner with Operations, Product, and Engineering to document operational pain points and translate them into automation opportunities and better internal systems.
  • Build and maintain metrics, dashboards, trackers, and reporting that give teams a clear view of performance.
  • Create clear models, decision memos, project plans, and recommendations from incomplete or messy information.
  • Own well-scoped cross-functional initiatives from problem definition through analysis, execution, follow-up, and measurement.
  • Support business planning, forecasting, market research, competitive analysis, and selected strategic projects.
  • Take ownership of recurring operational processes and improve them over time rather than treating them as one-off tasks.
  • Bring structure to ambiguous questions, define practical success measures, and keep relevant stakeholders informed as the work progresses.
What We’re Looking For
  • 0–2 years of full-time experience; exceptional recent graduates are encouraged to apply, and relevant internships count.
  • A first-principles approach to problem-solving, with the ability to break an ambiguous question into facts, assumptions, and a practical plan.
  • Strong analytical judgment and comfort working with incomplete or imperfect data.
  • Resourcefulness and the ability to turn analysis into action when the answer or playbook is not obvious.
  • High agency, curiosity, and a willingness to move work forward while asking thoughtful questions when needed.
  • A systems-oriented mindset, including the ability to recognize patterns across recurring problems and develop more scalable solutions.
  • Evidence of owning meaningful work through employment, internships, research, campus leadership, building something, or another demanding environment.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication, including the ability to turn complex information into a recommendation others can act on.
Why Join Squad Health
  • Start your career with meaningful ownership and exposure to consequential business and operational decisions.
  • Work closely with experienced operators and company leadership on cross-functional priorities.
  • Learn how a healthcare technology company operates across strategy, operations, product, growth, and clinical workflows.
  • Help build the operating systems and processes the company needs to scale rather than inheriting a finished playbook.
  • Build a foundation for future growth into Strategy & Operations, Business Operations, Growth, Product, or other operating roles.
  • Work on problems where better execution can directly reduce delays in patients accessing therapy.
  • 100% employer-paid employee health benefits.
  • Unlimited PTO.
  • Flatiron office in New York City.
