Job summary

Fluence, a global leader in energy storage solutions, seeks a Director of Power Conversion & Electrical Systems in Houston. You will own the category strategy, drive cost reductions, and lead Advanced Procurement in NPI programs, partnering across Engineering and Product to accelerate growth.

You will manage a senior team, align with the VP on targets, and ensure supply continuity while advancing domestic content and ESG objectives in a fast-scaling, high-tech environment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in strategic sourcing, category management, or supply chain leadership.
• Track record leading global category work in high growth hardware manufacturing.
• Ownership of at least $250M in annual category spend with measurable cost performance.
• Familiarity with IRA and domestic content considerations for energy storage preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve multiyear category strategy for power conversion and electrical systems.
• Negotiate master agreements, establish cost targets, and drive value across regions.
• Lead advanced procurement and early supplier involvement in NPI programs.
• Mentor a team of Senior Category Managers and ensure supplier capability.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Quality, Finance, and Legal on critical decisions.
