Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Director to lead growth across domestic and international markets. The role focuses on identifying opportunities, building strategic relationships, and driving proposals to secure new business with US DoD and international customers.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with Finance and Engineering on funding and requirements, and travel up to 50% to pursue opportunities and strengthen market positioning.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10+ years of progressive business development experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Extensive experience developing winning proposals and securing contracts with defense customers.
• Strong understanding of US Government acquisition, budgeting and program planning processes.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in domestic and international markets.
• Lead and manage the full business development and proposal lifecycle, ensuring adherence to requirements.
• Build strategic relationships with customers and partners to win contracts and grow accounts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align opportunities with funding sources and regulatory requirements.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
