Job summary

Goodwin is seeking a Director of Client Engagement Strategy & Sponsorships to lead the Client Engagements function on a global scale from New York. You will shape strategy, governance, and investment, steering a pod-based team and partnering with Business Development to drive growth through strategic engagements and sponsorships.

The role requires deep experience in client development and a strong ability to translate priorities into measurable outcomes across the engagement lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in client development, client engagement, events, growth strategy, or related discipline.
• Strong commercial judgment, with ability to connect engagement strategy to relationship development, pipeline creation, and revenue growth.
• Experience using data, analytics, client insights, and technology to inform strategy and measure impact.

Responsibilities

• Set vision, strategy, and operating model for the Client Engagements Center of Excellence (CoE).
• Lead and evolve the function into a scalable, commercially focused capability.
• Establish governance for the full client engagement lifecycle.
• Manage the firm’s global portfolio of client engagements, events, and sponsorships.
• Create tiered client engagement models aligned to audience, investment, and outcomes.
• Advise leadership on market-leading engagements, sponsorships, and relationship-building strategies.
• Partner with Business Development to embed client engagement in plans and campaigns.
• Define performance measures and executive reporting showing relationship progression and pipeline influence.
• Develop firmwide standards, playbooks, and enablement tools for quality and efficiency.
• Set roadmap for engagement-related technology, data, automation, and process improvement.
• Lead change management across Client Development and the broader firm.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing, pod-based global team.
• Collaborate with GO Team functions to ensure consistency in event planning.
