Job summary

Schrödinger – based in New York – is seeking a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to lead the STG finance function, owning planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis. You’ll translate complex financial data into actionable insights for executives and manage a small team.

You will drive integrated financial planning, partner with cross-functional leaders, and shape decisions on portfolio investments, resource allocation, and performance reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related discipline; MBA/CPA/CFA preferred.
• Ten years of progressive FP&A or related leadership experience.
• Experience developing and mentoring finance professionals.
• Strong proficiency with spreadsheets and planning/reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop an integrated vision for STG’s financial outlook—revenue, gross margin, OPEX, headcount, and key drivers.
• Lead monthly/quarterly performance reviews and identify variances, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare executive-ready analysis and presentations for STG leadership.
• Build models to support portfolio prioritization, resource allocation, and product decisions.
• Establish and monitor KPIs that link strategy with execution.
• Collaborate with Accounting during monthly/quarterly closes to strengthen accuracy and accountability.
• Improve FP&A processes, data quality, and automation; represent STG within Finance.
