Job summary

Shorr Packaging Corp in Nashville is seeking a Director, Food Packaging to translate market trends, customer requirements, and supplier capabilities into go-to-market plays, sales enablement, and pipeline execution.

You will collaborate with marketing, operations, and supplier partners to strengthen the food packaging portfolio, improve win rates, and deliver a consistent customer experience while leading cross-functional pursuit teams and shaping pricing and proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Engineering, Food Science, Business or related field
• 7+ years of progressive experience in food/ beverage packaging
• Experience creating go-to-market and business development strategies
• Knowledge of food safety/quality requirements (SQF, HACCP, GFSI)
• Experience collaborating with operations, co-manufacturers, and suppliers
• Strong analytical, financial acumen and executive storytelling
• CRM & forecasting discipline and activity reporting
• Proven consultative selling and executive-level negotiation
• Ability to lead cross-functional programs and drive execution
• Travel up to 40% domestically

Responsibilities

• Set and execute the go-to-market strategy for food and beverage packaging, including target segments and value propositions
• Partner with sales reps to build and execute territory plans and opportunities
• Lead/assist in customer discovery, solution design, proposal development, and executive presentations
• Establish pipeline rigor, lead deal reviews, and improve forecast accuracy
• Maintain knowledge of food packaging applications and translate into messaging and solutions
• Coordinate resources to meet food packaging requirements and ensure implementation
• Lead cross-functional pursuit teams to scope, price, and win programs
• Develop proposals, pricing guidance, and service levels; support negotiations
• Monitor profitability, track revenue, gross margin, and win rate; drive improvements
• Build strategic supplier relationships to support joint selling and portfolio expansion
• Support onboarding and implementation for strategic wins
• Communicate performance metrics and drive actions across teams
