Job summary

Anthropic is seeking a hands-on Financial Reporting professional to own the consolidated cash flow statement, schedules, and non-cash disclosures. You will partner with Controllership, Tax, Legal, and external auditors to ensure accurate, scalable reporting.

You will lead subsidiary and compliance reporting, adopt new accounting standards, and drive automation using Claude-enabled workflows, contributing to high-quality periodic disclosures and peer benchmarking.

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a member to join Financial Reporting team within Accounting. In this role, you will own some of the most important pieces of our external reporting: the consolidated statement of cash flows, subsidiary and other compliance-related reporting, and the peer benchmarking that keeps our disclosures clear and comparable.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who wants to shape how a financial reporting function works, not just run it. Our team builds with Claude every day, and you will help design the workflows and automation that make our reporting faster, more accurate, and more scalable. You will partner closely with Technical Accounting, Controllership, Tax, Legal, FP&A, Corporate Development, and our external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Own the consolidated statement of cash flows end to end, including preparation, supporting schedules, classification analysis, non-cash disclosures, and review with our external auditors
• Lead subsidiary and other compliance-related reporting, such as entity-level and special-purpose financial statements, lender and covenant reporting, and other regulatory or contractual reporting requirements
• Lead the adoption of new accounting standards: impact assessment, data and system changes, disclosure drafting, controls, and review with our external auditors
• Lead stock-based compensation reporting, including the expense and award-activity roll-forwards
• Contribute to the preparation and review of periodic SEC filings (Forms 10-Q and 10-K) and related disclosures
• Contribute to peer disclosure benchmarking, including frequent and proactive review of peer disclosures and assessment of Anthropic's disclosures in comparison to peers
• Partner with valuation specialists, Technical Accounting, Tax, and Corporate Development on purchase accounting and post- close reporting for acquired entities
• Identify opportunities to leverage Claude and automation tools to improve reporting processes, with a hands-on willingness to test and adopt new technologies as they emerge
• Build and maintain Claude-powered reporting workflows (e.g., roll-forwards, tie-outs, disclosure drafting, benchmarking) and document them so the broader team can use and extend them
• Design and maintain the process documentation and controls that support your areas, and serve as a primary point of contact for auditors on them

Minimum qualifications

• Hands-on ownership of a statement of cash flows, including preparation, classification under ASC 230, and support for audit review
• Experience with subsidiary, statutory, or other compliance-related reporting (e.g., entity-level financial statements, lender or covenant reporting, regulatory filings)
• Experience using Claude or similar AI tools to build new financial reporting workflows or automation
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including Regulation S-X and S-K
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex accounting topics to non-accounting partners
• Sound judgment and comfort owning ambiguous work, setting priorities, and meeting filing deadlines with minimal oversight
• Passion for Anthropic's mission to build safe, transformative AI systems

Preferred qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in financial reporting, SEC reporting, or public accounting, including time at a public company or one preparing to go public
