Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Director of Field Engineering to partner with enterprise Retail and CPG customers, leveraging Data & AI and Databricks solutions to address critical business challenges. You will lead a growing team of pre-sales Managers and Solutions Architects, collaborating across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to drive growth and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years in second-line leadership managing teams of 30+ individuals.
• Proven success leading high-growth enterprise software pre-sales organizations.
• Experience partnering with Retail and/or CPG customers on data, analytics, AI, or digital transformations.
• Ability to elevate executive engagement and drive large strategic transactions.
• Proven leadership to develop and empower teams to achieve ambitious goals.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Hire and manage first-line Managers and a growing team of technical pre-sales Solutions Architects.
• Develop trusted executive relationships with customers across Retail and CPG markets.
• Help customers accelerate Data and AI strategies in multiple domains (sales, merchandising, supply chain, etc).
• Collaborate with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to drive value.
• Promote a solution- and value-based Field Engineering organization.
• Act as a thought leader for Databricks within the Retail/CPG and Data/AI ecosystem.
