Job summary

Orange County Public Schools seeks a Safety and Emergency Management leader to coordinate enterprise-wide health and safety programs. The role reports to the Director, Occupational Safety and Health and leads a team focused on inspections, staff training, and continuous safety improvements.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in safety management or related field, plus relevant experience; CSP/OSHA certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety management, public health or related field and 3 years of relevant experience.
• Professional certification (CSP or similar) preferred with 5 years of related experience; or 7+ years of progressive safety experience.
• OSHA General Industry Certification required; SMS certification preferred.
• Completion of FEMA ICS 100/200/700/800 and ICS 300/400 within 12 months of employment.
• Must possess and maintain Florida driver’s license; pass comprehensive background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise-wide health and safety programs and services.
• Coordinate safety assessments, inspections and staff training.
• Develop and present safety recommendations to senior administrators.
• Oversee compliance with federal, state and district safety standards.
• Collaborate with district leadership to drive continuous safety improvement.
