Job summary

Switch is seeking a Director of Availability Engineering - Electrical to lead its Regional Electrical Engineering organization across multiple data center campuses. You will set standards, allocate resources, and oversee critical electrical initiatives to support reliable operations and customer growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
• Fifteen+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience.
• Five+ years of engineering leadership or management experience.
• Experience leading electrical engineering teams across multiple projects, facilities, or regions.
• Deep knowledge of medium-voltage and low-voltage distribution, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, batteries, protection systems, and mission-critical electrical infrastructure.
• Proven ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and construction submittals.

Responsibilities

• Lead Switch’s Regional Electrical Engineers and set direction for retrofit engineering, upgrades, and capacity expansion.
• Allocate resources across regions and ensure safe, reliable execution of projects.
• Establish standards and governance for electrical infrastructure modifications and upgrades.
• Provide oversight for major capital projects and customer-driven programs.
• Mentor engineering talent and drive continuous improvement across the team.
• Collaborate with Operations, Design Engineering, Construction, Sales, Solutions Engineering, and leadership.
