Region 4 Education Service Center in Houston seeks a Director of Strategic Initiatives to provide strategic leadership, coaching, and professional learning to superintendents, boards, and district leaders. The role strengthens governance, planning, and student outcomes across the Region 4 service area.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education or related field is required.
• 10 years of education and leadership experience with at least 5 years in educational administration/executive leadership.
• Terminal degree (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) preferred.
• Prior experience as a superintendent, chief academic officer, or senior district administrator or comparable executive educational leader.
• Experience leading strategic planning, governance development, or district improvement initiatives.
• Experience designing, facilitating, or coordinating professional development for school boards and senior educational leaders.

Responsabilités

• Plan, coordinate, and deliver professional learning and continuing education opportunities for school board members across the Region 4 service area.
• Provide or coordinate state-required school board training in accordance with TEA/State Board of Education requirements.
• Obtain and maintain necessary qualifications or certifications to deliver school board training programs.
• Develop and facilitate governance workshops and customized professional learning opportunities.
• Provide executive coaching and technical assistance aligned with district needs and leadership priorities.
• Support districts in aligning goals, strategic priorities, and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate with Region 4 departments to ensure continuity and capacity for school board training services.
• Maintain records and documentation for training delivery and completion.
